Vicente Lecuna joined the Literature Department of the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1997, just after completing a PhD in Latin American Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. His work focuses on a wide range of topics from populism and violence to urban design and contemporary narrative in Latin America. He has been visiting professor at the Universidad de Los Andes and Rice University, Visiting Scholar at the David Rockefeller Centre for Latin American Studies at Harvard University, Cogut Visiting Professor at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Brown University and Visiting Research Scholar at Princeton University.
