Joshua Moyse ‘25 Awarded Gilman Scholarship

Joshua Moyse '25 was awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, granted by the U.S. State Department to support international study opportunities. Majoring in international criminal justice with a minor in global Asian studies, Moyse plans to advance his international relations studies and participate in a cybercrime-focused internship in Australia.

At John Jay, Joshua has conducted data analysis on wealth and race in the US with Dr. Michelle Holder, served as a research assistant in African studies for Dr. Therese Booker and researched crime in the 20th century for Dr. Simon Baatz. He also worked in the office of Brian Cunningham, a New York State Assembly member, and interned with the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University.

Gilman Scholarships are designed to broaden study abroad opportunities by supporting undergraduates who might not otherwise participate due to financial constraints and helps students build skills that are critically important to their academic and career development. Applications for the next Gilman scholarship cycle will be available in mid-January.
