Shilpa Viswanath is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Management. Her research focuses on public-sector human resource management with an emphasis on gender equity, diversity, and inclusive workplace practices. She is interested in using advanced qualitative research design to understand equitable and inclusive public sector human resource practices. Dr. Viswanath also studies comparative public administration with a special focus on South Asia.
Dr. Viswanath was born and raised in Bangalore, India. She graduated with a Master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science's DESTIN and worked as a researcher in London, UK at the Crisis States Research Center, LSE; the Financial Times; Chatham House; and Kings College London prior to moving to the United States.
