Rene Christian Gonzalez joined the Department of English in the Fall of 2021, where he teaches ENG 101, 201, and 253. Currently, he also teaches first-year composition and short story writing in the ACES program at St. Joseph's University, Brooklyn. Prior to that, he taught first-year writing composition in the English Department at the College of Staten Island before going abroad to China to teach at the Beijing Chung Jin Lun beacon high school. He earned an MA from the City College of New York, Division of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Center for Worker Education, and his writing courses touch on subjects of social justice, societal impacts of technology, happiness studies, and critical language awareness.
