Angela Tolosa is an adjunct in the Sociology Department with teaching and experience in Criminal Justice, Juvenile Deliquency, Corrections, and general Sociology. She currently serves as Director of Operations at the NYC Criminal Justice Agency, the City's primary pretrial services agency that seeks to assist the courts and the public to reduce unnecessary reliance on incarceration. Prior to this she served as an Assistant Commissioner at NYC Department of Corrections and ran the National Reentry Resource Center, a project of the Council of State Governments Justice Center. Additionally she led Midtown Community Court and other initiatives through the Center for Court Innovation. At Brooklyn Law, she was active in public interest sector projects and developed her passion for justice work. She is actively involved in community-based organizations in downtown Manhattan and enjoys working on reform initiatives to support the city.
