York College - Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education, 2017
John Jay College of Criminal Justice - Master's in Public Administration & Policy, 2022
I have worked in higher education for over ten years, performing various administrative work and have also earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees within CUNY. My passion for public health ignited during my duties at York College, where much of the research on local health programs and policies highlighted a recurring theme: socio-economic disparities that create substantial gaps in health outcomes. Growing up in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, I was deeply impacted by this reality, which inspired me to want to raise awareness about the roles of planning, intervention, outreach, and advocacy has in improving health equity and bridging socio-economic gaps, particularly, in poor neighborhoods. Stepping into a classroom transformed my career as it gave me a platform to share health information with students who had wanted to improve their health, but also wanted to aspire to improve health disparities.
